Brainwash Cafe & Laundromat Spoken Word Open Mic

Brainwash also has a musical open mic on Tuesdays. Monday's "The Free Feature Salon" is a spoken-word-focused open mic hosted by Guinevere ("Q") accomanied by DJASON. There is the occasional featured performer who goes on before the main show.

The Brainwash cafe is a true San Francisco institution, both in character and staying power. Brainwash is an all-ages venue, a schizophrenic combination of laundromat, bar and restaurant. This used to be one of my favorite places to play with my band. After winning the BEST OF THE BAY 2004: BEST OPEN MIC the open mic event at the Brainwash has been AWOL until Guinevere stepped up in June 2007 and got things going again.
