S.O.U.P. at Day of the Dead Cafe
This event is on the first and third Thursday of every month.
S.O.U.P. (Sing, Open Up and Poetize) is Selene Streese's poetry-oriented open mic event next to the Grand Lake Theatre in Oakland. Musicians are welcome and they are currently looking for feature performers for 2010 (featured performers get a 30 minute slot). Smoky runs the cafe and, in a rare circumstance, this event began after Smoky started asking around if someone would like to start an open mic at his cafe. Open mics with strong venue owner support are twice as awesome. Also, January 21 2010 event is Selene's CD release party!
