Built in the 1950s by Dennis the Menace creator Hank Ketchum with sculptor Arch Garner, the Army Corps of Engineers even wrangled a ten-ton locomotive into Dennis the Menace Park. The train is still there today, looming behind a bronze statue of Dennis the Menace. The park has some impressive play equipment for the little ones, a lawn, and some benches as well. Feeling peckish? Dennis the Menace park also boasts the family-owned El Estero Snack Bar, open every day from 11-5:30pm serving a menu beloved by locals including burgers, fries, nuggets, hot dogs, nachos, drinks, and every kind of candy.
